Looks like an interesting article.

This article is written from the perspective of a social worker. It explores the idea that confidentiality may not be possible in a managed care environment. Social workers during this time were expressing negative attitudes about computer technology due to the possible breach in confidentiality. The article gives several vignettes and explores the leels of security available.
I personally feel that this is as big, or bigger, an issue for social workers as it is for nursing. Imagine a husband who has battered his wife gains access to the information about where she is taking shelter. What about child abusers gaining access to adoption information on their children.
Interesting!
